The third round of the 2021 JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship was underway this weekend at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The rains on Saturday were one of the biggest disruptors and talking points of the weekend. It poured so hard that all the races of the RE Continental GT Cup had to be transferred to Sunday. But it did give us an exciting and thrilling LGB Formula 4 & JK Tyre Novice Cup category races in the wets. Arya Singh was the highlight of the LGB Formula 4 as he won two out of the three races while JK Tyre Novice Cup saw the comeback of Ruhaan Alva after he lost the victory in the first race due to a time penalty. With that said, let us now look into the 2021 JK Tyre-FMSCI National Racing Championship and see how the weekend unfolded.

JK Tyre Novice Cup

The JK Tyre Novice Cup saw a thrilling fight between Jaden R. Pariat and championship leader Ruhaan Alva. In Race 1, the two teammates were fighting it out in the rain as one tried to stop the other from sealing the championship. Ruhaan was in the lead of the race and finished ahead of Jaden, he was hit with a 10 second time penalty for crossing the white line in the pit exit. This handed Jaden the race win.

In the following two races, Ruhaan bounced back to win both of them in dominant fashion. Jaden was able to finish Race 2 in P2 and Race 3 in P3, but it was just not enough for Jaden to close the gap to Ruhaan in the championship table.

In the second race, Amir Sayed (Ahura Racing) dominated the race as he took the lead of the race in the opening lap. Amir was able to defend from Mohamed Ryan and championship leader Vishnu Prasad during the initial stages.

LGB Formula 4

Rain was pouring heavily during the first race of the LGB Formula 4 category, but the conditions did not stop the drivers from racing wheel to wheel. Race 1 was started behind the safety car due to the downpour but once underway, Arya Singh dominated the race and brought home his first race win.

In the second race, Amir Sayed (Ahura Racing) dominated the race as he took the lead of the race in the opening lap. Amir was able to defend from Mohamed Ryan and championship leader Vishnu Prasad during the initial stages. But once Amir was able to break free from the fight, there was no turning back from him. In Race 3, it was Arya yet again who took the checkered flag with a dominant performance.

JK Tyre Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup

The heavy downpour cancelled the race on Saturday and both the races were moved to Sunday. In both races, it was Anish D. Shetty who took the victory. It was an easy victory for the Hubli rider in the first race as he finished nearly three seconds ahead of Anfal Akdhar in second.

Race 2 was closer than anticipated though. Anish was in the lead but in the closing stages he was under constant threat from Allwin Xavier. After a race till the finish line, Anish took the checkered flag just three-tenth of a second ahead of Allwin.
