Dell’Orto SPA announced as official data acquisition partner for MotoE

Dorna Sports confirms Dell’Orto SPA as the official data acquisition partner for FIM Enel MotoE World Cup from 2019 to 2021

MotoE is a class that specifically uses electric motorcycles for racing. The championship is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and is set to kick start in 2019. MotoE series will feature the Energica Ego Corsa Motorcycle manufactured by Energica Motor Company which is the first Italian manufacturer to make high-performance electric motorcycles. Energica is also the only manufacturer chosen by Dorna Sports for the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup Series.

The foundations of the newest class in the MotoGP paddock have slowly begun to take shape. Calls for new and advanced partners that share similar values as Dorna Sports. Dell’Orto SPA is a company founded in 1933 in Seregno, which then moved to Cabiate, Italy. The company specialises in the production of air-fuel management systems and has been doing this for three generations and possesses immense technological knowledge in this field. For the three year agreement with Dorna Sports, the Italian company will play a key role in supplying data acquisition systems for MotoE.

Dell’Orto is also the ECU supplier for Moto3 Championship and stands out to be the perfect partner for the MotoE World Cup. They are also the official technical suppliers for Aprilia Racing Team for the MotoGP and WSBK championships. The electronic throttle bodies fitted to the Aprilia race bikes support the most sophisticated strategies of engine control such as traction control, launch control, engine braking and anti-wheelie control. Dell’Orto will provide with data logger systems, inertial measurement units, suspension and brake sensors along with a tyre monitoring system for championship.

Former MotoGP World Champion Alex Crivillé will pilot the Energica Ego Corsa MotoE machine for a demo lap around Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, during the MotoGP weekend.
