Mahindra Baja SaeINDIA 2019 – Adventure Reloaded

The 12th edition of Mahindra’s Baja SAEINDIA concludes with  College of Engineering, Pune’s Team Nemesis Racing defending the title for the seventh time in a row on the mBaja class, while Institute of Technology, Nirma University from Ahmedabad wins eBaja.

The Baja SAEINDIA is test of man, his machine and how well this machine can withstand a good beating without a break-down. The eyes are not on the prize, but on the placement in the ten top indutry conglomerates present at the venue. The Endurance round assessed each vehicle’s ability to operate continuously and at a speed over rough terrain containing various obstacles. This however, was only the first part of the event for which a total of 82 out of 120 mBaja teams and 22 out of 50 eBaja teams participated in the endurance round which took place on a 4.5 metre dirt track with specially designed obstacles to acceleration, maneuverability, rock crawl and Suspension & Traction. A total of 363 teams had registered this year, out of which 251 (120- mBAJA and 50 eBAJA for Pithampur and 81 for IIT Ropar) teams qualified for the finale. Only 107 teams (85 teams for mBAJA and 22 for eBAJA) made it to the Endurance round.

Institute of Technology, Nirma University from Ahmedabad was declared the ‘Best eBaja Team’ and Govt. College of Engineering from Pune was declared the ‘Best mBaja Team’.  BVB College of Engineering from Hubli took the second position in eBaja and DY Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi from Pune stood second in mBaja. Silver Oak College of Engineering from Ahmedabad took third place in mBaja.
