Formula Bharat held the 10th edition of South Asia’s most regarded Formula Student Competition at Kari Motor Speedway

Formula Bharat's 10th edition wrapped up on a high note. The platform has been a beacon for driving national interest towards the need for an experientially skilled workforce, and the importance of industrial know-how alongside theoretical knowledge, for the better part of a decade. The 2026 Season, not only upheld and carried its vision forward, but also upped the ante with a pioneering step towards India's first 'Formula Student Autonomous Vehicle Showcase,' which is a firm knock on the door of autonomous and intelligent mobility development in India.

Like every year, this 10th year too amassed and ensured the attendance of India’s sharpest brains with over 60 student engineering participating teams across two major categories: Combustion Vehicle (CV) and Electric Vehicle (EV). The landmark edition of Formula Bharat also garnered the interest of top academic institutions, industry leaders and even government bodies were all present to celebrate innovation, design, as well as manufacturing and the next frontier of mobility in India.

As aforementioned, Team IIT Bombay Racing, from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), became pioneers in the Indian autonomous driving space and showcased their cutting-edge prototype, to demonstrate what’s in store for India’s autonomous mobility solutions. In the Combustion Vehicle category, Team Camber Racing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology claimed victory, with Team Eclipse Racing stood in a close second place for Thakur College of Engineering & Technology, Mumbai. Third place was secured by Team Ikshvaku Racing, from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore.

As for the Electric Vehicle category, Team Veloce Racing won the class for Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, while Team Raftar Formula Electric from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and IIT Bombay Racing completed the podium in third place.

This 10th and landmark edition was held from January 21 to 26, 2026 at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. The venue also hosted the Indian Hardware Startup Meet, wherein 14 hardware and deep-tech startups assembled to inspire the engineers of tomorrow. The student-led startups taking part in the meet, showcased their prototype projects encompassing electric mobility, robotics, drones, advanced manufacturing, energy systems, and assistive technologies.
