X1 Racing League to begin this October; Race cars displayed

Xtreme1 Racing League or the X1 Racing League , the brainchild of Indian racers, Aditya Patel and Armaan Ebrahim is all set to begin from October this year. Last weekend, the duo unveiled the twin seater race cars that will be used for racing. The X1 Racing League has entered into a long-term exclusive commercial rights partnership with Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

So what is X1 Racing League about?

The world’s first professional franchise-based motorsport league will be held in a mix of track and street. A total of eight city-based franchise teams, each comprising of two cars and four drivers will battle it out in 40 races held over 12 weekends.

The X1 Racing League intends to have drivers of different racing disciplines onboard. The team is in discussion to rope drivers from Formula One, Formula E, Indy 500, Le Mans and NASCAR. Each team will comprise of one international male driver, one international female driver, one Indian international driver and one Indian domestic driver. The decision to include female racers and have them compete along with the male drivers makes the X1 Racing League the first-of-its-kind format.

In a bid to make motorsports accessible to everyone, X1 Racing league has come up with a new initiative – a virtual racing competition. Christened as ‘X1 eSports League’, it will give an opportunity for youth and aspiring racers to showcase their talent and if shortlisted, try their luck on professional racing.

When will the X1 Racing League season begin?

The X1 Racing League will begin from October this year and the races will take place on Saturdays and Sundays. Each race will last for 45 mins and three races will be held every day. Though the team is yet to announce the venue of the street races, Buddh International Circuit and MMRT will be the obvious choice for the track races.
