Yokohama becomes official tyre partner of Raid De Himalaya 2018
Yokohama India has become the official tyre partner of the 20th edition of the Raid De Himalaya. The rubber manufacturer will supply its Advan Rally tyres at subsidized prices to the participants of the world’s highest rally raid.

The company, who also provided dirt tyres to Team Maruti Suzuki Motorsport at the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare 2018 will offer its flagship product line-up named ‘Advan’ to the participants of the event. Yokohama India will offer the Advan motorsport tyre A0535 to the participants, which according to the company will be suitable on the treacherous terrains of Raid De Himalaya. The 205/65 R15 A035 tyre will be offered at Rs 10,000 per piece and will suit the needs of cars like Maruti Suzuki Gypsy while the 185/65R15 A035 tyre costing Rs 8,000 per unit can be fitted on rally prepped versions of hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
On becoming the tyre supplier of the Raid De Himalaya 2018, Mr. Sanjay Chatterjee, Head, Sales & Marketing, Yokohama India said. “It’s been a pleasure to be associated with one of the toughest rallies where rally driver’s skills are mapped on the highest and toughest terrain. Our Advan tyres are perfectly suitable to handle such high performance driving in an extreme weather and terrain conditions. Tyres are the only part of the vehicle that touch the ground, one should carefully choose what they ride on”.
The Raid de Himalaya is the world’s highest and one of the toughest rallies in India. It takes place in the Himalayan regions of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Since its inception in 1999, the event has gathered traction and today observes participants from foreign countries as well. The 20th edition of the Raid de Himalaya will take place from October 6 to 14, 2018.
