2021 Triumph Street Scrambler along with Sandstorm Edition revealed

The 2021 Street Scrambler with custom styling and detailing retains the old powertrain which is now Euro5 compliant while the limited-run Sandstorm edition gets a unique paint scheme

Triumph Street Scrambler was launched way back in 2017 and was a more off-road focused motorcycle based on the Triumph Bonneville platform. And now, the Street Scrambler has been updated to comply with the Euro5 emission norms, with subtle cosmetic updates and a new limited Sandstorm edition variant.

Triumph Street Scrambler design

In terms of design, the Street Scrambler remains unchanged but will be available in three colour schemes — Jet Black, Urban Grey and a dual-tone Matt Khaki and Matt Ironstone with new tank graphics. Apart from the new colours the Street Scrambler gets a new aluminium registration plate with embossed Street Scrambler logo that is integrated into the side panels and aluminium finish for the heel guards and headlight brackets. Additional detailing includes ‘bear trap’ style high grip foot pegs and new leather and textile materials for the seat. On the other hand, the Sandstorm limited edition gets a unique tri-tone paint scheme with Matt Storm Grey and Ironstone accents for the fuel tank, Matt Storm Grey front mudguard, a compact LED taillamp, aluminium bash plate, stylish headlight grille with subtle branding and rubberised knee pads on the tank as standard. Apart from this, each limited edition Scrambler Sandstorm will come with a unique personalised certificate of authenticity stating the bike’s VIN number adding to its exclusivity.

Triumph Street Scrambler specs

The 2021 Street Scrambler retains the same 900cc liquid-cooled SOHC engine, that is now Euro5 compliant and continues to make 64.1bhp at 7250rpm and 80Nm at 3250rpm. Also, the Street Scrambler gets a high-level twin exhaust system for that distinguishable exhaust note of the iconic British twin which is brushed in stainless steel.

Triumph Street Scrambler Chassis

The Street Scrambler is based on a twin cradle tubular steel frame. It gets 41mm cartridge forks upfront and preload adjustable twin shocks at the rear with 120mm of front and rear wheel travel. The braking duties are handled by the Brembo four piston axial calipers on the 310mm single floating disc in the front while the rear gets Nissin two piston floating calipers on 255mm disc, both with ABS. The Street Scrambler comes equipped with dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres, wrapped around 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire spoked wheels that have been blacked out.

Triumph Street Scrambler electronics

The Street Scrambler comes equipped with a slew of features like switchable ABS and traction control, three riding modes (Rain, Road and Off-Road) enabled by ride-by-wire system and a torque-assist clutch as standard. Also, while riding in off-road mode the traction control and ABS can be turned off, in order to attain complete control over the rear wheel on loose surfaces. The Street Scrambler also gets an analogue instrument cluster with a digital menu, accessible from the handlebar mounted switches, a USB charger below the seat and a key-fob incorporated immobiliser as well.

It is likely that we will get the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler but whether or not the limited, Sandstorm Edition will make its way to Indian shores, remains to be seen.
