2025 Toyota Camry unveiled internationally, gets only an all-hybrid powertrain now
Toyota has unveiled the ninth generation of the Camry sedan internationally. The 2025 Camry has ditched the V6 mill and now gets only a 2.5-litre four-cylinder fully-hybrid engine. In India, however, only the hybrid powertrain was available in the previous model. The exteriors and interiors have been refreshed too.
2025 Toyota Camry exteriors
The 2025 Camry is built on the same TNGA-K platform as the current model but with a new suspension setup. Toyota claims that the changes have improved the car's responsiveness and agility.
The exterior of the 2025 Toyota Camry has been refreshed to resemble the design language of the upcoming Toyota Prius. The new Camry has a larger and lower front grille, as well as redesigned LED headlights and tail lights. There are four trim levels available: LE (base model), SE, XLE, and XSE (top model). The SE and XSE have functional aerodynamic air ducts inspired by racing, front-side canards, and a rear diffuser. A rear lip spoiler and an exposed dual-tip exhaust are also present. These two trims also have 19-inch alloy wheels, whereas the LE and XLE have 18-inch alloy wheels. The XSE also gets a coloured grille and a black trunk garnish.
There are two new colour options, Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. The XSE trim has a two-tone paint scheme with a black roof.
2025 Toyota Camry interiors and features
The 2025 Toyota Camry also has refreshed interiors that are similar to the upcoming Toyota Crown. The Camry gets a completely redesigned dashboard, a 12.3-inch infotainment system (8-inch unit for lower trims), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (7-inch partially digital cluster on lower trims), and a 10-inch heads-up display. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The Camry also has a combination of USB-A and USB-C ports, with three in the front and two in the rear across all trim levels. Other features include a JBL Premium Audio system with nine speakers, a voice assistant, front-side acoustic laminated glass, optional heated and ventilated seats, and various upholstery options.
2025 Toyota Camry powertrain
The Toyota Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that receives hybrid assistance from two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors at the front axle, producing 223bhp (9bhp more than the outgoing model). In the AWD configuration, an additional motor mounted on the rear axle raises the total power produced to 230bhp.
However, the V6 engine that was offered in international markets has been discontinued.
2025 Toyota Camry safety
On the safety front, the 2025 Toyota Camry now has a blind spot monitor and a rear cross-traffic alert feature. The sedan continues to feature the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which includes features like a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, radar-based cruise control and lane and road sign assist.
Moreover, the XLE and XSE trims come with a ‘Premium Plus Package’ accessory that adds features like traffic jam assist, a front-cross traffic alert, lane change assist, panoramic view monitor, and a front and rear parking assist with automatic braking in the safety suite.
The 2023 Toyota Camry is currently priced in India at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). What do you think the 2025 Toyota Camry will be priced at when it comes to India? Tell us in the comments below.
