Mercedes-Benz E-Class Edition E launched at Rs 48.6 lakh

The German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz India launched a new variant of the E-Class sedan christened as ‘Edition E’ and is priced from Rs 48.6 lakh and Rs 60.61 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). The launch of the Edition E model commemorates 20 years of production of the E-Class in India.

The new Edition E, sports a host of styling changes on the outside which include ‘Edition E; badging, black hubcaps, newly designed tail lamps, electronic panoramic sunroof and an illuminated 3 point star. On the inside, the E Edition gets sporty pedals, Active Park Assist with cameras, and an infotainment system with SD card navigation and Mercedes-Benz apps.

Under the hood, the Edition E sports the same powertrains as seen in the current E-Class, which is 2.0-litre, petrol mill making 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, a 2.1-litre diesel power-plant churning out 201bhp and 500Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre V6 making 261bhp and 620 Nm of torque. All the three engines are mated to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission with eco start/stop as standard.

The Mercedes-Benz Edition E is available at dealerships in three trims and the prices are listed below:

E 200           Rs 48.60 lakh

E 250 CDI   Rs 50.76 lakh

E 350 CDI   Rs 60.61 lakh
