The Audi S5 is a more sedate offering for those who don’t want to shell out the big bucks for a full-blown RS5. Post its launch in 2017, this is the first time the S5 Sportback gets an update, with major updates being a reworked front-end with a new grille and Matrix LED headlamps. Besides these, the rear-end gets a reworked bumper with a new set of LED taillamps, and will be on offer with 19-inch alloys.

Under the hood, the S5 Sportback comes with a three-litre V6 turbocharged petrol engine, producing 344bhp and 500Nm. The engine comes paired to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The S5 Sportback can hit a ton in just 4.8 seconds and can attain a limited top-speed of 250kmph. It also gets four driving modes -- Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Individual. With this update, the Audi S5 Sportback also comes equipped with a S-specific sport suspension with adjustable dampers.

Keeping the safety paramount, the S5 Sportback comes equipped with features like ABS and ESC. Aside from this there are side airbags for the rear, ISOFIX mounting points, a tyre pressure monitoring system and anti-theft wheel bolts.

As for now, the S5’s most direct rivals are the BMW M340i xDrive and the Mercedes-AMG C43 but the BMW does have the upper hand in terms of pricing, thanks to it being assembled in India. With the launch the S5 Sportback, Audi has added one more product in its lineup of updated A4, A6, A8L, Q2, Q8, RS7 Sportback and RS Q8 while it has products like the e-tron and e-tron Sportback in the pipeline for India launch very soon.
