Auto Expo 2020: MG Motor India showcases Hector in 6- and 7-seater guise

MG Motors’ new Hector Plus iteration gets aesthetic changes to the exteriors with revamped interior tech

MG Motor India today showcased the Hector Plus, the latest 6- and 7-seater addition to the Hector lineup on day two of the Auto Expo 2020. Scheduled to go on sale later this year, the Hector Plus will be a worthy addition to the Hector lineup, with enhanced features and specifications. The new variant comes with updated exteriors and a customisable (2+2+2/2+3+2) seating configuration.

It gets all-new headlamps, a redesigned grille and bumper, a sharper taillight design, and revised skid plates front and rear. On the inside, it now gets an updated version of the iSmart interface called the iSmart 1.5, which now gets a ‘chit-chat’ mode, which allows the car to verbally respond to your commands and requests, akin to the iPhone Siri or Android’s Google Assist.

But, there was more to the MG Motors’ pavilion than just the seven-seater Hector Plus. While addressing to the crowd, Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, MG Motor India also teased the E200 EV which packs a 24Kw battery and a claimed 500km of range; the MG3 hatchback which the brand has dubbed a global car, owing to its presence in multiple markets; the RC6 premium sedan (that was displayed yesterday) and packs a panoramic sunroof; the ZS SUV with a conventional ICE engine, and last but not least, the MG Gloster full size SUV, which the brand said they will unveil tomorrow.

Speaking about the Auto Expo participation, Rajeev Chaba, added, “As the industry-leading platform for showcasing innovation, Auto Expo 2020 is the perfect stage to highlight MG’s connected, tech-driven, and sustainable vision for the future of mobility. All of the MG products showcased here have received an extremely encouraging response for their differentiated value propositions. With the showcase of Hector Plus, we are further strengthening the HECTOR brand in India and underlining how we are constantly working towards enhancing customer delight with more innovative and value-added offerings.”
