2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce unveiled

The 2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce line-up includes the Rosso, Lusso, Lusso SCS and the RC SCS

Hot off the heels of the unveil of the 2021 Superveloce, MV Agusta has taken the wraps off of the 2021 Turismo Veloce. Like before, the Turismo Veloce is available in four variants, the base variant that is called the Rosso. Then there is the Lusso, the Lusso SCS which features MV Agusta’s Smart Clutch System and finally the top-spec RC SCS. Like the Superveloce, and the Brutale 800 RR that was revealed a couple of months back, the Turismo Veloce range has also received Euro5 compliance, updated electronics and a few tweaks here and there.

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: Design

In terms of design, there’s nothing new to see here barring the colour finishes. The Turismo Veloce Rosso is available in a single-tone Ago Red colour finish. The Lusso and the Lusso SCS models get two dual-tone colour finishes, namely, Fire Red Matt Metallic Dark Grey and Grey Graphite Matt Metallic Dark Grey. The RC model gets a single three-tone colour finish which is called Ago Silver Glossy Black Ago Red.

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: Powertrain

For 2021, MV Agusta, like with the Brutale 800 RR, Dragster 800 RR and the Superveloce has tinkered with the engine to make it compliant with the stringent Euro5 emissions norms. Power and torque outputs now stand at 108.6bhp at 10,1250rpm and 80Nm at 71000rpm. MV also claims to have improved the torque between 3000rpm to 6000rpm by 12 per cent. This has been achieved courtesy new intake trumpets. The gear ratios on the Turismo Veloce have also been reworked with efficiency in mind. The exhaust system has also received a do-over. The Lusso SCS and RC SCS also feature the latest version of MV Agusta’s ‘Smart Clutch System’ which enables clutch-less up and downshifts and also starting and stopping.

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: Chassis

The 2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce lineup features a ALS steel tubular trellis frame. The base Rosso model gets 43mm Marzocchi USD forks which are rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustable and a Sachs monoshock with rebound, compression damping and spring preload adjustable. The higher-spec Lusso, Lusso SCS and RC SCS feature a more sophisticated semi-active Sachs adjustable suspension setup with MVCSC (MV Agusta Chassis Stability Control). Fuel capacity on the 2021 Turismo Veloces is now 21.5-litre and another major change is a reworked mid-section of the bike which has enabled a lower 830mm seat height, 20mm lower than the outgoing model.

2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce: Electronics

The electronics package on the 2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has received a comprehensive do-over. It gets the latest version of their quickshifter, an IMU which enables lean sensitive rider aids like cornering ABS and cornering traction control. The bikes also get a new ECU to control all the new electronic trickery. Onboard is also a new 5.5-inch TFT screen that is Bluetooth enabled allowing for phone pairing, turn-by-turn navigation and more. The Turismo Veloce Lusso, Lusso SCS and the RC SCS also feature a GPS enabled anti-theft system for improved security.

The higher-end Lusso, Lusso SCS and RC SCS apart from semi-active suspension also get extra features like a centre-stand, heated-grips, Bluetooth, adjustable windshield, side panniers (Lusso RCS and RC SCS) and the RC SCS also gets a special edition certificate of origin.

Like with all other MV Agusta motorcycles in recent times, it is highly unlikely that we will get to see these bikes land on Indian shores.
