2022 Honda CB300R slated to be relaunched in January

The 2022 Honda CB300R has been unveiled at the 2021 India Bike Week, and it receives some tweaks over its predecessor to keep it relevant

The Honda CB300R was among the first few motorcycles launched under the Japanese bikemaker’s BigWing brand, but it disappeared from the market as Honda decided against upgrading it to BS6 norms. However, the CB300R is now all-set to make a comeback into the Indian market. Prices for the 2022 Honda CB300R will be announced soon and deliveries should begin in January 2022.

2022 Honda CB300R Design

The 2022 Honda CB300R borrows a lot of design cues from the CB1000R and follows the neo-retro theme. At first glance, the design of the fuel tank is something that will catch the eye. The angular, aggressive design of the tank gives the CB300R a pronounced stance and appearance.

The round LED headlight, along with the body panel on the side brings out the modern-urban feel of the naked bike. Moreover, the huge exhaust which has been redesigned for 2022 gives the motorcycle a meaty look when viewed for the side.

2022 Honda CB300R Powertrain and Chassis

The Honda CB300R retains the same 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, engine. Power figures haven't been revealed yet but Honda claims that it won't be different from the model it replaces. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it now gets a slip and assist clutch as well. The CB300R that used to be previously on sale was among the lightest motorcycles in the 300cc category, and we are hoping that has not been tinkered with on the 2022 edition.

The CB300R is underpinned by a trellis frame that hangs on upside-down forks in the front that are now finished in a golden shade and a mono-shock suspension on the back. Speaking of the braking setup, the CB300R gets a radially-mounted Nissin calliper mounted on a petal disc upfront.

In the end, the 2022 CB300R brings in a fresh breath into the 300cc naked bike market. Now being locally-assembled instead of coming via the CKD route, the CB300R goes up against the more powerful Duke 390, but the attractive price point and those beautiful gold USDs might just be the tipping factor for a customer to buy this motorcycle.
