Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 launched at Rs 93,690

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 will be available in four colour choices

Bajaj has been working on a new 250cc Pulsar for a while now so it came as a surprise when the company launched the Pulsar NS 125 out of nowhere. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 is the smallest offering in the NS line-up and also the most affordable one. The bike is positioned to appeal to beginner enthusiasts who want a sporty but non-intimidating motorcycle.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 125: Engine

The Pulsar NS 125 is powered by a 124.45cc, four-stroke, SOHC two-valve, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is BS6 compliant and makes 11.8bhp at 8500rpm and 11Nm of twist at 7000rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 125: Chassis and Design

The Pulsar NS 125 uses a perimeter frame to provide sporty handling. It uses a telescopic fork setup at the front and unlike the standard Pulsar 125, it gets a Bajaj’s Nitrox monoshock at the rear. The NS 125 runs on rather skinny tires, a 80/100-17 section in the front and a 100/90-17 section tire at the rear. Braking comes courtesy of a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear. The bike tips the scales at 144kg (kerb) and has a seat height of 805mm.

On the design front, the styling of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 is identical to the bigger NS 160 and the NS 200 barring the changes in dimensions courtesy different componentry. It can be had in four colour schemes --Beach Blue, Fiery Orange, Burnt Red, and Pewter Grey.

Commenting on the launch of the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, Sarang Kanade, president, Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto, said, “We are excited to bring the pedigree of the higher cc Pulsar NS series bikes, for first-time performance riding enthusiasts. The thrill that the new Pulsar NS 125 is built to offer, will appeal to a large segment of customers with its multiple class leading features. The Pulsar 125 has been very well received by consumers and we are confident that the new NS 125 will further strengthen the brand’s position in the Entry Sport Bike segment”.

The Pulsar NS 125 costs almost Rs 17,000 more than the split-seat Pulsar 125 almost Rs 60,00 more affordable than the KTM 125 Duke. So a proper comparison test to decide which one deserves your money should make for an interesting test.
