EICMA 2019: Benelli unveils the Leoncino 800

The biggest bike from the Leoncino family is likely to make it to our shores next year

A few months back, spy shots of the Leoncino 800 in the production guised were leaked and finally at EICMA 2019, the brand has unveiled the newest member of their Scrambler series.

Aesthetically, the bike carries the same design elements seen on the leoncino 250 and the Leoncino 500. The bike gets a sculpted tank, minimal panels. However, unlike the other Leoncinos, this one actually looks like a Scrambler.

The Leoncino 800 is powered by a 754cc-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 80bhp and 67Nm of peak twist. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission that is paired to a slipper clutch. The engine is cradled inside an all-new frame.

Suspension duties are handled by 50mm Marzochhi forks at the front with compression and preload adjustability while the rear monoshock gets only pre-load adjustability. Dropping the anchor are twin 320mm disc at the frontwith four-piston monobloc caliper and a 260mm rear disc with dual-piston caliper, all sourced from Brembo. The bike gets 17-inch spoked rims with dual-purpose tyres.

Other features on the bike include a new LED headlamp, redesigned instrument console and ABS.

We already have the Leoncino 250 and the Leoncino 500 in our market so it would be fair to assume that the company will get the Leoncino 800 to India as well. If launched here, the bike will go up against the likes of the Triumph Street Scrambler and the Ducati Scrambler Icon.
