Ducati Hypermotard V2 launched, prices start from ₹16.53 lakh
Ducati has introduced the latest generation of its supermotard motorcycle to India

Ducati has launched the all-new Ducati Hypermotard V2 and the track-focused Hypermotard V2 SP in India, with a new 890 cc V2 engine, a monocoque frame, and which is up to 14kg lighter than the previous generation. Here is a closer look at the Ducati Hypermotard V2, from its design and chassis to its performance and price.
Ducati Hypermotard design and features
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is the fourth generation of a saga that began with a prototype at EICMA 2005, and the styling continues to retain the signature double-wing fuel tank, a streamlined front end and dual under-seat exhausts, now in a more compact form. It comes in Ducati Red, while the V2 SP gets its own unique SP Livery. The riding position is pure supermotard, with forward footpegs, wide handlebars and a seat height of 880mm, which Ducati claims makes the bike friendlier to a wider range of riders. A new 5-inch TFT dashboard displays three information modes, keeping the info right where you need it.
Ducati Hypermotard V2 chassis, suspension and electronics
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 uses a monocoque frame that treats the engine as a structural element, paired with a new aluminium swingarm. That makes the Hypermotard weigh 13 kg lesser from the previous generation for the standard bike and 14kg lighter for the SP. The standard Ducati Hypermotard V2 gets fully adjustable Kayaba forks, Brembo M4.32 callipers and cast alloy wheels. The V2 SP steps up with fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 callipers and forged aluminium wheels, which cut inertia for quicker direction changes. The electronics are built around a 6-axis IMU, derived from the Panigale V4. Cornering ABS comes with a Slide By Brake function for supermotard-style drifts into corners, alongside traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and a quickshifter. The V2 SP also gets Power Launch and a Pit Limiter as standard.
Ducati Hypermotard V2 engine and performance
The heart of the Ducati Hypermotard V2 is the 890cc V2 engine, and at 54.4 kg it is the lightest twin-cylinder Ducati has ever built. It produces 118.4 bhp and 94 Nm of torque, and 70 per cent of that torque is available at just 3,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission.
Ducati Hypermotard V2 prices
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is priced at ₹16.53 lakh ex-showroom India, while the Hypermotard V2 SP is dearer with a price tag of ₹20.78 lakh. That extra money gets you the Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 callipers, forged wheels and the standard Power Launch and Pit Limiter. Bookings are open across all Ducati dealerships in India.
