Fifth-gen Ducati Monster launched in India at ₹13.99 lakh
The Ducati Monster and Monster+ have both been launched in India with a slew of updates

Ducati has launched the fifth-gen Ducati Monster and Monster+ in India, which is based on the new V2 engine, has received a redesign and has been updated considerably. Prices for the Ducati Monster start from ₹13.99 lakh while the Monster+ model’s prices start from ₹14.34 lakh
Ducati Monster design
The fifth-gen Monster has been redesigned though distinctive elements like the bison-back tank have continued to stay on with the latest generation of the motorcycle. The headlight is full-lED and the seat is narrower and 5mm lower than before to make it easier for riders to put their feet on the ground.
Ducati Monster engine and chassis
The fifth-gen Monster and Monster+ are based on a new 109bhp and 91.1Nm-producing 890cc V2 twin-cylinder engine and the unit is almost 6kg lighter than the one it replaces, while also getting intake variable timing distribution, which allows the Monster’s engine to combine smoothness at low revs, vigour at medium revs and power at high revs. The new engine is a stressed part of the chassis, with the latter being based on a monocoque frame, a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the Panigale V4 and a rear subframe consisting of a technopolymer element and a trellis. This layout, combined with the engine, contributes to make the new Monster 4kg lighter than the previous model.
Ducati Monster suspension, brakes and electronics
The naked motorcycle gets a 43mm USD and monoshock by Showa while the Brembo braking system consists of 320mm dual front discs with M4.32 radial calipers. The Monster also gets Diablo Rosso IV tyres, in 120/70 and 180/55 sizes. In terms of the electronics, the Ducati comes with an electronics package that includes DTC (Ducati Traction Control), DWC (Ducati Wheelie Control), EBC (Engine Brake Control) and cornering ABS, along with riding modes – all of which can be controlled via the new petal-shaped joystick controls and the 5-inch TFT display, which is Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation-ready.
Ducati Monster prices
Prices for the Ducati Monster start from ₹13.99 and go up to ₹14.23 lakh depending on which colour you choose. The Monster+, which adds a passenger seat cover and headlight cowl to the motorcycle, is priced from ₹14.34 to ₹14.45 lakh, depending as per the colour scheme.
