E3 Electric.AI has launched the E3 Trion series of electric scooters with three variants, which they have positioned as India's first intelligent scooter thanks to their predictive AI IoT platform. Here is what we know so far.

E3 Trion styling

The E3 TRION draws design inspiration from the Mars Rover and is built around the philosophy of being stable, purposeful, and adaptable. It sits on larger 14-inch steel wheels. Visibility is handled by the LIGHTIQ system, which comprises dual projector LED headlamps and collimator rear lamps for better visibility on highways and poorly lit stretches. The rider gets a 5-inch display that is integrated with smartphone connectivity. The scooter is available in six colour options: Solar Red, Misty Green, Graphite Grey, Nova Blue, Teal Blue, and Luna White.

E3 Trion powertrain

The E3 TRION is powered by a PMSM hub motor, with two battery options, the 2.3 kWh portable unit on the C1 and a 3 kWh fixed pack on the C1x and C2. Both are built on LFP chemistry for longevity. The C1x promises an IDC-certified range of 165 km on its 3 kWh fixed battery, while the performance-oriented C2 tops out at 82 km/h and sprints from 0 to 40 km/h in 6 seconds, with a Sport mode on top of the Eco and Power modes available across all three variants. E3 Electric.AI also offers an extended warranty of up to 8 years or 1 lakh kilometers. While there has been no official confirmation on the brakes, upon closer inspection of the photos, it is likely to feature drum brakes at the front and rear.

Predictive AI

E3 Electric.AI claims the E3 command centre, the brand’s proprietary IoT and cloud platform that continuously monitors the vehicle to predict potential issues before they turn into serious breakdowns. They also claim the AI healthscan function runs a full vehicle diagnostic in 10 seconds and flags any issues. The scooter also features a smart trip planner with charger locator, connected navigation, remote battery monitoring, dashcam, geo-fencing, and OTA software updates.

E3 Trion Pricing and Rivals

E3 Trion has competitive introductory pricing with the C1 base variant priced at ₹99,999 with the C1 and C2 priced at ₹1,09,999 and ₹1,19,999 respectively. With established rivals like the Bajaj Chetak, Aether Rizta and the TVS iQube which have established service networks and decades of manufacturing experience. The brand’s real-world reliability and after-sales service is something only time will answer.
