Activa 6G is the brand’s third BS6-compliant two-wheeler, after the Activa 125 BS6 and the SP 125
Honda has updated it’s most popular two-wheeler in the country with BS6 trickery christening it the Activa 6G. The 110cc scooter will now retail at Rs 63,912 for the standard version and Rs 65,412 for the Deluxe version (all prices ex showroom, Delhi). The Activa 6G will hit the showrooms by the end of January 2020, with deliveries expected to begin from February 2020.
The 109.51cc engine in the Activa 6G makes 7.7bhp and 8.79Nm, And the only differentiating factor between the Standard, and Deluxe variant is the inclusion of an LED headlight, with LED DRLs on the Deluxe variant. The Activa 6G will get Honda’s tried and tested PGM-Fi fuel injected tech (a first for the Activa range), as well as a silent start with the ACG (Alternating Current Generator) starter motor. A unique feature of the start button is its two-way function: the button acts as a start switch when pressed downwards, and an engine kill switch when pressed upwards. Next, the piston cooling jet (which squirts oil on the underside of the pistons) maintains cooling efficiency and provides better lubrication, enhancing the reliability factor that the Honda Activa has been known for. Lastly, the brand claims the new engine improves fuel efficiency by 10 per cent.
As per the spec sheet, the dimensions are similar to the recently launched Activa 125 and we believe that the Activa 6G it shares its underpinnings with the bigger sibling. Owing to which the ground clearance has gone up by 18mm (thanks to new 12-inch wheels) while there’s also all-new telescopic forks which would enhance the ride and handling. Next, the new cluster design now gets a malfunction light (for help when checking with on-board diagnostics). The Activa 6G also gets an external fuel lid and multi-function key, as seen on the Activa125 again.
The Activa 6G will go up against the BS6 variants of TVS Jupiter and Hero Duet after they go on sale.
