KTM 390 Adventure and 390 Duke series now get a 350cc engine variant
KTM has made its popular 390 range more accessible with the addition of the 350cc engine range, passing on the 18 per cent GST benefit to the customer

New KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure launched with a smaller 350cc engine
New KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure launched with a smaller 350cc engine
In a bid to make the 390 range of motorcycles more accessible, KTM has introduced the 390 Adventure and 390 Duke with a 350cc engine. Unlike the Triumph 400s where the entire range has been converted to 350s, KTM has added two 350cc engined models along with retaining the 399cc engines and with this, it hopes to appeal to a wider audience. With the 350cc engine, the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure attract lower GST, allowing KTM to price the 390 Duke at ₹2.77 lakh and the 390 Adventure at ₹2.91 lakh, ex-showroom.
KTM 390 Duke & KTM 390 Adventure with 350cc engine
The 390 Adventure is based on the 390 Adventure X and remains the same apart from the new engine, while the 390 Duke is unchanged except for the smaller motor. Speaking of the smaller motor, it displaces 349.32cc that produces 41bhp and 33.5 Nm. That is 4.3 bhp and 5.5 Nm down from the 399cc LC4C engine.
KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure chassis
For the 390 Duke, the frame remains the same, with the current steel trellis setup, pressure die-cast aluminium sub-frame, plus the off-centre rear monoshock arrangement, so the chassis architecture is unchanged. For the 390 Adventure, KTM continues with its split/steel trellis frame platform, so the 350cc version is essentially the same bike underneath, apart from the new engine specification.
KTM 390 Duke and 390 Adventure: The range
The newly launched 390 Duke and 390 Adventure join the existing range and now serve as the entry-point into KTM’s 390 family. The 390 Adventure (new), is based on the 390 Adventure X but gets the smaller engine. The new 390 Duke with the 350cc engine sits below the pre-existing 390 Duke with the 399cc engine that is now called the 390 Duke R and will serve as the higher-spec offering in the naked bike range. Importantly, the existing 399cc bikes are not going anywhere. KTM has confirmed that the 390 Duke R, 390 Adventure X, 390 Adventure S and 390 Adventure R will all continue as part of the lineup.
KTM 390 Duke and Adventure range prices
Because these new variants fall under the lower 18% GST bracket, KTM says it can pass on the tax benefit to customers and reduce the starting price of both motorcycles. The KTM 390 Duke 350 is now priced at ₹2.77 lakh, ₹60,000 less than the 399cc. The KTM 390 Adventure 350 starts at ₹2.80 lakh, ₹60,000 less than the 399cc, both ex-showroom, making them more accessible than before.
