QJ Motor announces price cuts effective January 8 for three models – the SRC 250, SRC 500, and SRV 300

Bucking the price hike trend for the 2024 model year, QJ Motor has announced reduced prices for three models effective January 8, 2024. The new prices apply to the SRC 250, SRC 500, and SRV 300.

QJ Motor SRC 250

The QJ Motor SRC 250 now costs Rs. 1.79 lakh, which makes it Rs 31,000 more affordable in 2024. The SRC 250 is a commuter motorcycle powered by a 249cc parallel-twin engine making 17bhp at 8000rpm and 16.5Nm at 6000rpm through a 5-speed gearbox. The SRC 250 has a wheelbase of 1370mm and weighs 163kg wet. Seat height is 780mm and ground clearance is 160mm.

QJ Motor SRC 500

The QJ Motor SRC 250 now costs Rs. 2.39 lakh, which makes it Rs 40,000 more affordable in 2024. The SRC 500 is a vintage-style motorcycle powered by a 480cc single-cylinder engine making 25bhp at 5500rpm and 16.5Nm at 4000rpm through a 5-speed gearbox. The SRC 500 has a wheelbase of 1440mm and weighs 205kg wet. Seat height is 800mm and ground clearance is 155mm.

QJ Motor SRV 300

The QJ Motor SRV 300 now costs Rs. 3.19 lakh, which makes it Rs 40,000 more affordable in 2024. The SRV 300 is a modern cruiser motorcycle powered by a 296cc V-twin engine making 30.3bhp at 9000rpm and 26Nm at 5000rpm through a 6-speed gearbox. The SRV 300 has a wheelbase of 1400mm and weighs 164kg wet. Seat height is 700mm and ground clearance is 160mm.

QJ Motor offers a model range with a lot of diversity. But the QJ Motor name does not inspire much confidence, and the Chinese company is yet to prove itself in the Indian market. As is characteristic of a new brand, after sales support is inadequate and sales have been slow to take off. QJ Motor aims to set that right using an aggressive new pricing strategy. Whether it is enough to change the company's fortunes remains to be seen.
