The design of the BMW X3 largely retains the signature BMW look but has a facelift to go with it. It is more inclined towards a sporty orientation with the redesigned BMW kidney grille, flatter headlights and the new front apron. The front of the car also gets new Matrix LED headlights. Down the side, the look of the car largely remains the same. At the back, the car gets fresh tailights which are further accentuated with the three-dimensionally modelled pincer contour and horizontal turn signals and the black border around it. Both the front and rear bumpers have also been tweaked to freshen up the look of the car.

In the M Sport package, the front bumper features larger air inlets finished in high-gloss black and air curtains. The sportier rear bumper includes a diffuser finished in a dark theme. The M Sport trim includes the new 19-inch alloy wheels. However, the 20-inch alloy wheels are also available to early customers
