2024 Hyundai Creta launched at Rs 10.99 lakh
The Hyundai Creta has long been the segment leader in the highly competitive midsize SUV market. For 2024, Hyundai has given it fresh styling, refreshed interiors, a host of technological upgrades, and a new engine option. Can it maintain its lead over the competition?
2024 Hyundai Creta exterior
The front and rear of the 2024 Hyundai Creta have been completely redesigned, with a new parametric black chrome grille flanked by quad-beam LED headlamps with sequential indicators. Also aiding illumination are Horizon LED positioning lamps and DRLs. The rear gets new connected taillamps, a spoiler, and a new bumper and tailgate design. The alloy wheels remain 17-inchers, but get a restyling as well.
2024 Hyundai Creta interior and features
The 2024 Hyundai Creta gets heavily reworked interiors, featuring two 10.25-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and the central infotainment system. Also on offer is an 8-speaker Bose sound system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The front seats are ventilated and the driver’s seat can be adjusted electrically. The Creta also gets a 360-degree camera and six airbags as standard. Adding to passenger convenience are rear window sunshades and 2-step reclining rear seats.
The 2024 Hyundai Creta also features 19 ADAS level 2 features including forward collision warning, blindspot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, and lane following assist. The Creta also gets over 70 car connectivity features, including Hyundai Blue Link which is compatible with smartphones and smartwatches. Some of the Creta’s features can also be controlled through voice commands, including the sunroof and climate control.
2024 Hyundai Creta powertrain
The Creta comes in three engine options: a 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi that also does duty in the Verna, mated to a 7-speed DCT, a nat-asp 1.5-litre petrol mated to a 6-speed manual or IVT and the ubiquitous 1.5-litre CRDi diesel mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. In terms of power outputs, the turbo petrol is the most powerful, with 158bhp and 253Nm, followed by the diesel with 114bhp and 250Nm and finally the nat-asp petrol with 113bhp and 143.8Nm.
2024 Hyundai Creta price and rivals
The 2024 Hyundai Creta starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh. Its closest rival is the Kia Seltos, which is priced from Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh. The Creta undercuts its rivals from SAVWIPL, with the Volkswagen Taigun starting at Rs 11.69 lakh ex-showroom and the Skoda Kushaq at Rs 11.89 lakh ex-showroom. The Creta has been leading the ultra-competitive midsize SUV segment, and will also go up against the Honda Elevate, Citroën C3 Aircross, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
