Skoda has updated the Slavia with changes that we’ve seen before on the facelifted Kushaq. Bigger screens, more features, newer design elements, and a new 8-speed AT. To celebrate the legacy of the sedan, Skoda also introduced the Superb TDI and the addition of a new batch of the Octavia RS (50 units). Keep reading to know more!

Skoda Slavia design

The Skoda Slavia does not get a radical design change, but the updates make the car look more sportier than before. At the front, there’s a new DRL design, fog lamps, and chrome strips on the grille which should have rather been illuminated like in the Kushaq. It rides on 16-inch wheels, and the Monte Carlo version gets black wheels with red brake calipers. At the back, there’s new tail lamps with sequential indicators, and textured finish on the tailgate. The Monte Carlo version adds red accents on the grille, a lip spoiler, and an aggressive rear diffuser.

Skoda Slavia powertrain

The Skoda Slavia continues with the same powertrain options from before but there’s a new transmission option. The smaller 1-litre TSI engine that makes 114bhp and 178Nm gets a new 8-speed AT instead of the 6-speed AT, and it is also available with a 6-speed MT. The 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine makes 148bhp and 250Nm, and can only be bought with a 7-speed DSG.

Skoda Slavia interior

The Skoda Slavia facelift’s cabin has gone up several notches compared to the older Slavia. The biggest one is the new screen for the cluster. The new 10.25-inch unit in the Slavia is from the older Kodiaq, and the quality is brilliant. The dash is dominated by a floating 10.1-inch info screen which is powered by Google Cloud – it is very slick to use, and the UI/UX is much better than the older Slavia’s screen. There’s also a new 360-degree camera that works well and gets crystal clear footage.

The front seats get electric adjustment and ventilation, while the second row gets seat massagers. The touch-sensitive aircon settings have been carried over from before, and using it is a time-taking affair, because you can never get the setting right where you want it in the first go. Another drawback is the fact that there’s only a single sunroof, rather than a panoramic one.

The Monte Carlo version gets black upholstery with red stitching like before, red accents of the dash, red ambient lighting, and Monte Carlo badges.

Skoda Superb TDI

Skoda has also announced the return of the Superb TDI (diesel) in India. This is big news because it marks the return of VW Group’s diesels in India after 6 years. This means that after the Superb diesel, we can expect Volkswagen and Audi to bring back diesel engines in their models.

The Superb TDI gets a 148bhp/360Nm tune, Dynamic Chassis Control, Progressive Dynamic Steering, Massaging, heating, and ventilation in the front seats, nap package for the second row, and much more. Deliveries for the Superb TDI will begin in Q2 2027, and the brand is taking “Expressions of Interest” now.

Return of the Skoda Octavia RS

This was the day of the sedan. Alongside the Slavia and the Superb, Skoda also announced the return of the Octavia RS. A new batch of 50 units has been made available for the Indian customers, since all 100 cars were sold out within minutes last year when the car was launched. A new batch may bring in some updates to the car or minor changes but no info on it has been revealed yet.
