Tata Safari Gold edition launched at Rs 21.89 lakh

The exclusive Tata Safari Gold edition is slated to make its first public debut in IPL 2021

The festive season is around the corner and Tata Motors grabbed the opportunity to launch the blingy avatar of its flagship SUV. The exclusive Tata Safari Gold edition is priced at Rs 21.86 lakh and it will sport the same mechanicals as the ongoing models but gets new paint schemes with gold accents, fresh interiors, and a handful of new features.

Tata Safari Gold edition: What’s new?

The design of the Safari Gold edition remains the same but it sports two colours called White Gold and Black Gold, with gold accents. Up front, the gold plated logo is surrounded by golden tri-arrows and a swooping curve that follows the bottom edge of the grille and there is also gold garnishing around the headlights. Moving on to the sides, there is a #GOLD badge above the wheel arch and you can see gold on the door handles as well as an accent on the roof rail. Lastly, the rear has a gold plated manufacturer’s logo and Safari lettering on the boot.

Exteriors aside, the interiors of the Gold edition gets similar changes with the chrome bits being replaced by gold. The steering wheel, door handles and the instrument cluster along with the AC vents borders are now in gold. The dashboard gets a marble-like finish and has a golden stripe running along the bottom of the dashboard, which is absent in the Black Gold option.

This is not it, Tata has also announced to add features over and above those of the XZ+. Meaning, features like an air purifier, wireless charging, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are coming to the existing Safari range. But has kept the ventilated captain seats in the second row exclusive for the Gold edition.

The Gold edition of the Safari stacks up with other premium packages like the Adventure Persona and the Dark edition. The Gold edition is the most expensive variant of the Safari, Rs 1.16 lakh to be precise and in the market, the Safari rivals the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and the newly launched XUV 700.
