2024 Skoda Octavia unveiled globally, India launch uncertain
Skoda has unveiled the 2024 Octavia worldwide. The new Octavia will be offered in a sedan and estate variants. It is highly unlikely that the estate variant will come to India. However, the fate of the Octavia sedan in India is also uncertain as it operates in a segment that is fast losing favour among Indian buyers to SUVs.
2024 Skoda Octavia exterior
The 2024 Skoda Octavia gets a redesigned front fascia featuring revised bumpers and grille flanked by a set of new standard LED Matrix headlamps. The rear also gets redesigned bumpers and new LED Matrix headlamps. The headlamps and taillamps get animated indicators and a coming/leaving home function on higher variants. The new Octavia gets updated 16-inch to 19-inch alloy wheel designs and silver or gloss black finishes.
2024 Skoda Octavia powertrain
The 2024 Skoda Octavia gets four petrol and two diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces 116bhp and 220NM and comes with optional mild-hybrid technology and a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The 1.5-litre TSI is also offered with an output of 152bhp and 250Nm, also with optional mild-hybrid technology. The 2-litre TSI petrol engine produces 206bhp and 320Nm but 268bhp and 370Nm in the RS variant. As for the diesel options, the 2-litre TDI will be offered in two output levels, 116bhp/300NM and 152bhp/360Nm. All engines will have a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearbox, with the exception of the 2-litre TSI which will only get the DSG option.
2024 Skoda Octavia interior
The 2024 Skoda Octavia gets a 10-inch infotainment screen (13-inch optional) in the interior and a 10-inch digital cluster. The interior can be had in black or cognac, and Skoda claims that the upholstery in the new Octavia features recycled fabrics and is sustainable. 15W wireless charging is available and features smartphone cooling, and the USB-C ports offer 45W charging. The Laura voice assistant is slated to receive ChatGPT integration.
2024 Skoda Octavia prices
Prices for the 2024 Skoda Octavia haven’t been announced yet. Skoda does not currently sell the Octavia in India, so whether the new generation Octavia comes to India remains to be seen. The last price for the Skoda Octavia was Rs 26 lakh for the base variant and Rs 29 lakh for the top-end L&K trim. If it is launched in India, the Skoda Octavia will have no competitors with the now-discontinued Honda Civic being its last rival.
