Ashok Leyland launches AVTR - its BS6-compliant range of modular trucks

Ashok Leyland’s new range of trucks ensures a larger number of products from a smaller number of manufacturing components, ensuring both easy customisability and faster production times

Ashok Leyland has launched its AVTR range of modular trucks featuring i-Gen6 BS6 technology which the brand claims gives better fluid (diesel as well as AdBlue additive) efficiency without impacting power. The modular platform is a first of its kind in the Indian CV industry with multiple options of axle configurations (two, three and four axle), loading spans, cabins (single and double cab), suspensions (slipper, bogie, semi-elliptical and parabolic), and drivetrains (ranging from 197 to 315bhp in rear wheel as well as four-wheel-drive configurations) on a single platform for the entire range of rigid trucks, tippers and tractors in the 18.5-tonne to 55-tonne category.

The AVTR platform gives the customers a wider choice to customise their product, for more focused operational economics. As a result, it also leads to faster turnaround along with better market coverage owing to a claimed over six lakh combinations, for any kind of commercial purpose. Ashok Leyland has also extensively tested the AVTR range of trucks in various configurations across challenging terrains and a range of operating temperatures, ensuring improved safety and better comfort for drivers, with higher reliability and enhanced durability.
