Audi’s new flagship is here, behold the Q9
The Q9 showcases panoramic roof, automatic doors and six-seat luxury

Audi has unveiled the all-new Audi Q9's interior, revealing the brand’s latest flagship SUV. Positioned as Audi’s premier full-size luxury SUV, the Q9 sits above the Q7 and promises a lounge-like cabin filled with advanced technology, comfort, and versatility.
Audi says the Q9 has been designed as a “mobile living space” with a strong focus on passenger comfort, premium materials and an immersive in-car experience.
Audi Q9 six-seat and seven-seat layouts on offer
The Audi Q9 will be offered in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The six-seat version gets two individual electrically adjustable captain seats in the second row, complete with ventilation functions for enhanced comfort. Audi says the setup is inspired by business-class airline seating.
The front sports seats also feature ventilation and massage functions, while the seven-seat version prioritises practicality with three individual seats in the second row that can all accommodate child seats.
The third-row seats can also be folded electrically, making it easier to switch between passenger and luggage carrying duties.
Audi Q9 electrically powered doors debut
For the first time ever on an Audi, the Q9 gets fully electrically operated doors. These can be opened or closed using the key, the myAudi app, the infotainment system, the brake pedal or even the seatbelt buckle.
Audi says the system also uses surround sensors and obstacle detection to prevent the doors from opening into nearby objects or road users like cyclists. The wide-opening doors are also meant to make ingress and egress easier, especially while carrying luggage or handling strollers.
Audi Q9 panoramic roof gets switchable transparency
One of the standout features inside the Audi Q9 is its massive 1.5-square-metre panoramic glass roof. The roof can be opened for an open-air experience, while its glass panels feature switchable transparency. The laminated safety glass is divided into nine independently controllable sections, allowing passengers to make individual sections opaque for glare protection. Audi says the roof also blocks over 99.5 per cent of UV radiation and reflects infrared heat. Higher trims additionally get integrated ambient lighting with 84 LEDs and 30 colour options.
Audi Q9 Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system adds immersive audio
Audi has also equipped the Q9 with an updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system featuring 4D sound technology. The setup combines headrest-mounted speakers with actuators integrated into the seats, allowing occupants to physically feel the music. The SUV also gets a full-width interaction light strip integrated into the dashboard, which can synchronise with music playback and ambient lighting themes.
Audi Q9 Premium materials and practical storage solutions
Audi says the Q9’s cabin uses a mix of premium materials, including wool upholstery, Dinamica microfiber, leather combinations and fine Nappa leather. Buyers will also be able to choose from wood, carbon fibre and textured trim finishes. On the practicality front, the Q9 gets multiple storage areas, wireless charging pads with Qi2.2 support, 100W USB-C charging ports and a flexible trunk rail system with sliding hooks and adjustable anchors for securing cargo.
With its official debut set for later summer 2026, Audi aims to set new standards in luxury, comfort, and innovation with the Q9.
