Lamborghini Temerario joins Italian State Police fleet
The Lamborghini Temerario has joined the Italian State Police fleet, and this is far more than a supercar dressed up in blue-and-white Polizia graphics.
The 920CV hybrid Lamborghini will be used for specialist duties including the emergency transportation of organs and medical supplies, continuing a partnership between Lamborghini and the Italian State Police that dates back to 2004. The relationship began with the Gallardo and later expanded to include the Gallardo LP 560-4, Huracán and Urus Performante.
Lamborghini Temerario continues a 20-year police partnership
Over more than two decades, six Lamborghini vehicles have entered Italian State Police service, collectively taking part in more than 200 organ transport missions across Italy. The cars have also appeared at over 1,500 road-safety education events, giving Lamborghini’s performance credentials a very different kind of purpose. The Temerario now becomes the latest chapter in that collaboration, using its speed and technology for missions where saving time can quite literally mean saving lives.
Lamborghini Temerario packs a 920CV hybrid V8 powertrain
Powering the Temerario is Lamborghini’s new 4-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors, producing a combined 920CV. The electrified powertrain represents a major technological step for Lamborghini, and in police service, that performance will now be put to use in some of the force’s most time-critical operations. The handover at Sant’Agata Bolognese also coincided with the presentation of I motori della Polizia, a book documenting the vehicles used by the Italian State Police over the decades, with the Temerario now adding one of the most exotic machines yet to that history.
