Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler breaks cover

After it was first introduced as the Global Pik Up concept back in 2023, Mahindra has revealed its pickup based on the Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV in production guise and the pickup truck will be called the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. The Lifestyler will be underpinned by the same body-on-frame chassis as the Scorpio-N SUV and will likely go up against rivals like the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux, while also taking forward the lineage of the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway that was once sold by the company in India. In India, the pickup will be sold as the Scorpio Lifestyler while in global markets, it will be sold as simply the Lifestyler after its launch in April 2027.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler design

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler bears a face similar to the Scorpio-N but looks more butch courtesy of a new grille with ‘Scorpio’ written on it, vertical fog lamps and slimmer LED headlamps. The bumper includes a bull bar and air dam, both of which make the Lifestyler look more macho and muscular, while the side features a snorkel on certain variants and a generous amount of cladding over the front wheel arch which houses the chunky tyres and wheels. There will be three variants of the pickup – the Valley, Reef and Trail Edition – and the most notable change to the design are the rear doors with a window line that kicks upwards, as well as the pickup’s bed which will feature a loading capacity of 6500kg.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler interior

The interior of the Lifestyler features a revised version of the Scorpio-N’s dashboard which includes a new portrait-oriented infotainment screen that is identical to that of a Tesla’s, flanked by the A/C vents on each side and a panel for the automatic climate controls as well as various other physical controls. The Lifestyler gets a three-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster for the driver, while the transmission tunnel also featureS physical controls including one for the electronic parking brake and the gear selector for the automatic transmission.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler engine

Mahindra has not yet revealed the engine options powering the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup truck but it is likely that it will share its engine and transmission options with the Scorpio-N SUV – a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and a 2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine with revised power and torque outputs to account for the heavier weight of the pickup truck. Expect these engines to be mated to an automatic transmission with 4x2 as well as 4x4 powertrains.

The Scropio Lifestyler will be available in three variants

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pricing

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler will be launched by Mahindra in April 2027 and prices for the pickup truck are expected to start under the ₹20 lakh mark – at ₹19.79 lakh, undercutting the likes of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the recently-updated Toyota Hilux.
