Maruti Suzuki introduces AMT for Swift, Dzire and Baleno CNG variants
The 1.2-litre Z series engine can now be paired with an AMT in the Swift, Dzire and Baleno S-CNG variants
Maruti Suzuki India has, for the first time, paired its automated manual transmission (AMT) with its S-CNG variants. Importantly, all three models will not have any design changes to the exterior or the interior, with the sole addition of the five-speed AGS AMT transmission, which will now be available in factory-fitted CNG variants.
All three models will be powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E engine, which produces 82bhp and 112Nm in petrol mode while producing 69bhp and 101Nm in CNG mode. Fuel storage across the lineup will be split between the 37-litre petrol tank and the 55-litre CNG tank, which is located in the rear boot, with a fuel efficiency of 35.34 km per kg, 36.47 km per kg, and 34.47 km per kg for the Swift, Dzire and Baleno, respectively.
Each of the three cars are roughly ₹30,000 more expensive than their manual transmission CNG equivalent.
Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG AMT start from ₹7.92 lakh (ex-showroom), with the Suzuki Dzire S-CNG AMT starting at ₹8.53 lakh and the Baleno S-CNG AMT going for ₹8.32 lakh, making each of the three cars roughly ₹30,000 more expensive than their manual transmission CNG equivalents.
