Mercedes-AMG’s most off-road-ready G-Wagen yet: AMG G 63 Off-road Pro
Starting from ₹3.80 crore, it receives off-road-specific hardware with some visual upgrades
Mercedes-AMG has launched the AMG G 63 Off-road Pro in India, with limited units available. At an ₹6 lakh premium over the standard G 63 AMG, it gets some off-road specific upgrades and visual updates while having the same underpinnings as the standard G 63 AMG.

This is where the story changes, with the Off-road Pro getting AMG Active Ride Control, which supplements the standard AMG Ride Control with active roll stabilisation. The story doesn’t end there, as it also gets AMG Active Balance Control to help individually adjust the roll stiffness of the suspension to control body roll. Lastly, it also gets AMG Traction PRO to control the braking torque for each wheel individually to allow for maximum traction in sand and rocky terrain.

The exterior receives a roof-mounted luggage rack for additional storage, a removable ladder, along with a reworked front and rear fascia. It also gets 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in matte black, which are exclusive to this variant.

The interior remains similar to the standard AMG G 63, with Nappa leather upholstery, customizable ambient lighting, 12.3-inch infotainment screen which is powered by MBUX and gets a redesigned off-road cockpit that provides a quick overview of essential information like vehicle positioning, compass, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure, and temperature.

It is powered by the same bi-turbo V8 as the G 63 AMG that produces 577bhp and 850Nm of torque, which is mated to AMG’s Speedshift TCT nine-speed transmission. Power goes to all four wheels, courtesy of AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Mercedes-AMG has launched the G 63 Off-road in India at a starting price of ₹3.80 crore (ex-showroom), which is ₹6 lakh more than the standard G 63 AMG. As of writing, Mercedes-AMG has not mentioned how many units have been allocated to India. The Off-road Pro is to the G 63 what the OCTA is to the Defender: the final evolution.
