Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric design

You see the GLC Electric from the front first, and the grille makes sure of it. It is upright and lit up, with 942 illuminated dots around a glowing Mercedes roundel, and the AMG Line version that India gets finishes it in black chrome. You get digital LED headlamps with a star motif sitting on either side of the grille, and the AMG styling pack adds sportier front and rear bumpers. In profile, the GLC Electric looks more like a conventional SUV than a futuristic one. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, with flush door handles that pop out when you unlock the car, slim cladding around the wheel arches and a sloping roofline. The wheelbase is 2,972mm, which is 84mm longer than the petrol and diesel GLC, and the overall length is 4,845mm. It is also 23mm wider and 9mm taller than the ICE, at 1,913mm and 1,649mm respectively. At the back, a full-width gloss black band connects the LED tail lamps, which have star-shaped elements inside to echo the front. The ground clearance is 148mm, and it rises by 25 mm when the air suspension is raised.

The cabin is built around the seamless 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, and it runs on the MB.OS, Mercedes-Benz’s new operating system. It brings intelligent navigation, ADAS, over-the-air updates and personalised settings, and the Electric GLC is the first locally built Mercedes-Benz to get it. Above you, the SKY CONTROL panoramic roof carries illuminated stars. Mercedes-Benz also says the cabin makes extensive use of recycled materials and materials with a reduced CO2 footprint, which gives the Electric GLC a quieter sort of luxury.
