Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe at ₹1.1 crore. The car is available as a CBU (completely built units) in India.
The car gets a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. It produces 416bhp and 500Nm, with an additional 31bhp from the 48V battery, boasting a claimed 0-100 time of 4.8 seconds. There are four drive modes to choose from - comfort, sport, sport+ and race. The transmission is a 9-speed AT that transfers power to all four wheels. Cornering ability has been given special attention with the rear axle steering system.
The exterior design is akin to coupe-SUV styling from the stand GLC Coupe with AMG specific changes like a vertical slat grille, AMG side skirts, and an AMG spec rear diffuser for a sportier stance. In addition, the car gets a sportier front bumper, larger front splitter, lip spoiler, quad exhausts, and 21-inch AMG specific blacked-out alloy wheels. It gets nine different colour options to choose from. The headlamps are digital LED, which means each headlight has a unique chip that is covered with over one million micro-reflectors.
The interior design too is inspired by the standard GLC Coupe with AMG specific differences. These include an AMG performance steering wheel in carbon-fibre design, sports seats with red seat belts and a head-up display with AMG specific themes. It gets a 11.9-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen but gets an AMG button to change the car’s drive settings. The 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, cruise control and 360-degree camera.
