The Range Rover GT is the brand’s latest EV and has just been unveiled. While we have yet to know a lot about the vehicle, here is what we know so far.

Until now, the closest thing we had to a Grand Tourer from Range Rover was the iconic Range Rover SV Coupe, which was unveiled back in 2018. This was not just another standard Range Rover with the rear doors welded shut. It was developed by Land Rover’s SVO division, and everything except the bonnet and lower tailgate was specific to this car. With 999 bespoke units planned by Jaguar Land Rover, unfortunately, it never saw the light of day. JLR was undergoing some financial restructuring and chose to direct the SVO division’s engineering workforce and capital towards EV development and mainstream volume models. After 7 years, we now have the Range Rover GT. Keep reading to know more…

While the Range Rover GT’s wraps cover most details, we can spot that the front features segmented horizontal headlamps with vents below for cooling. Range Rover had also launched an Evoque Coupe and Cabriolet back in the day, which was also sold in India. Unlike previous coupes from the brand though, this one sports a 5-door design, with a sloping roofline.

Range Rover GT interior

The Range Rover GT’s interior is really minimal, with the driver’s cluster being replaced by a smaller driver’s display and an infotainment display. On the lines of keeping things minimalistic, concealed air con vents run across the width of the dashboard. The dashboard is wrapped in woven textile, concealing speakers within. The rear seats provide excellent legroom, although an exact number is unknown. The rear seats seat 2 people, with the centre featuring a small screen for cabin controls and an armrest. The cabin features a fixed glass panoramic sunroof.

There is no denying we have yet a lot to know, including the dimensions, the actual design elements, the performance figures and lastly the pricing. Prototype vehicles are currently completing global testing under camouflage. The Range Rover GT is the brand’s first Grand Tourer by name. As of writing, no launch dates have been announced.
