Skoda unveils Peaq – flagship 7-seater electric car which is longer than the Kodiaq
Skoda Peaq gets a 91kWh battery with up to 640km range and 295bhp. Is it better than the Kodiaq?

Skoda has taken wraps off of the Peaq – the brand’s flagship electric car. It’s the first 7-seater EV by Skoda, and is 116mm longer than the Kodiaq. The Peaq features a similar design language like the Kodiaq, but gets a bulkier look. It is available with RWD and AWD versions, 63kWh and 91kWh battery packs with up to 640km range.
Skoda Peaq design
The Peaq is 116mm longer than the Kodiaq (4,872mm long) and its design is on the minimalistic side. Cleaner surface, bulkier look, and flush door handles. On the front, the grille gets small LEDs, similar to what the Kodiaq and Kushaq gets, and it does look much better than a full-blown lightbar. There’s also a Sportline variant which gets sportier black accents and sportier trim in the cabin. Despite the size, due to excellent engineering, the Peaq achieves a drag coefficient of 0.249. The active shutter behind the front bumper, which reduces drag by opening when airflow to the battery cooling system is required contributes to this. Wheel sizes range from 19 to 21-inchers, depending on the variant.
Skoda Peaq interior
The Peaq becomes the longest car ever made by Skoda. Long car also means longer wheelbase, which in turns means more space in the cabin. It gets a 2965mm wheelbase, which is 174mm longer than the Kodiaq’s wheelbase. At the front, you get heated and massaging functions in the ottoman-style seat, and bench seats in the second and third row. The dash features a 13.6-inch info screen which can rotate to be standing either vertically or horizontally (rotates by hand), and the cluster gets a 10-inch screen. Other features include a 755W 16-speaker Sonos sound system, two wireless chargers, fixed glass roof with dynamic shade control, 360-degree camera, ADAS, et al.
Skoda Peaq battery and performance
The Peaq is offered with two battery options and three variants. 60 gets a 61kWh battery with a single motor placed on the rear axle – gets 450km claimed range, and makes 201bhp and 350Nm (160kmph top speed). Both the 90 and 90x get the larger 91kWh battery – 90 gets a single motor setup that gets a 640km range, and makes 281bhp and 545Nm (180kmph top speed), and 90x with two motors that gets a 610km claimed range and makes 295bhp and 545Nm (180kmph top speed). The 90x with the all-wheel-drive setup is the fastest in the lineup and goes from 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds.
Skoda has not released any electric car in India yet, and it is unsure whether the brand will bring the Peaq to India.
