Special edition Jeep Meridian X launched at Rs 29.99 lakhs

Jeep India has introduced a special edition variant of the Meridian called X, which gets cosmetic additions and a few feature inclusions to make it a bit more appealing. Jeep Meridian X retails at Rs 29.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The SUV is based on the Limited MT variant and gets accessories worth Rs 50,000.

Regarding cosmetic changes, the Jeep Meridian X has a grey roof and alloy wheels with grey accents. To enhance its adventure spirit, it gets side moulding and puddle lamps. Meridian X is available in seven colour options - Silvery Moon, Techno Metallic Green, Magnesio Grey, Pearl White, Brilliant Black, Galaxy Blue, and Velvet Red. On the inside, the overall dashboard layout is unchanged. It also gets programmable ambient lighting, sunshades, an air purifier, premium carpet mats, an optional rear-seat entertainment package and a dashcam.

Everything is unchanged in terms of powertrain and mechanicals. It gets a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Jeep Meridian's facelift is expected to happen later this year, as it has been seen testing on the road. It competes with Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and Citroen C5.
