The new Altroz is the only premium hatchback with a diesel powertrain
The Tata Altroz has now received a facelift and prices for this new model start from ₹6.89 lakh. With the facelift, the Altroz gets updates to the design and the interior, along with more features. The hatchback continues to be offered with a petrol and diesel engine, and here’s what you need to know about the updated Altroz.
Tata Altroz facelift design
Compared to the earlier model, the Altroz facelift gets a new front grille design, along with LED headlamps with DRLs and fog lamps. Moving to the side, the Altroz gets a new design for the alloy wheels and flush door handles compared to the earlier pull-type units. At the rear, the Altroz gets connected LED tail lamps and with this facelift, the Altroz continues to look fresh. You can have the Altroz in five colour schemes – Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pure Grey, Royal Blue and Pristine White.

Step inside and the Altroz gets a new dashboard that is reminiscent of the one found in Tata’s SUVs like the Harrier and the Safari. You get a 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment system as well as the digital instrument cluster, and the steering wheel is also new. The Altroz facelift is well equipped, packing in features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a 360-degree view camera, ambient lighting and fast charging USB Type-C posts. In terms of safety, you get 6 airbags on offer along with ESP.

Tata Altroz facelift engine
You can have the Tata Altroz with two engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine makes 86.8bhp of power and 115Nm of torque, and this engine can be mated to a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed DCA or a 5-speed AMT, which is offered for the first time. The 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 88.7bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, and this engine can only be had with a manual transmission. You also get the option of a CNG variant on the Tata Altroz.

Prices for the Tata Altroz start from ₹6.89 lakh for the entry-level petrol variant, going all the way up to ₹11.29 lakh for the top-spec diesel variant. The Altroz goes up against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20. Bookings for the Altroz facelift open from June 2, 2025 and it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the competition.
