Tesla Model Y L has been launched at ₹62 lakh (ex-showroom) and commands a premium of ₹2 lakh over the regular Model Y. For that additional price it brings 20km extra range, is over half a second faster from 0 to 100kmph and has an extra 381 litres of boot space. 2026 Tesla Model Y L design and features
On the face of it, the Model Y L remains faithful to the original design save for the further swept back C-pillar region that opens up space on the inside for the third-row and the enlarged cargo area. The wheel size is also unchanged at 19 inches, but they now sport a revised aero-wheel cover.
The cockpit is also a familiar place to be, save for the extra seating space, dialling the total number of occupants up to six. It also gets a bump in the entertainment department with an 18+1 speaker system as opposed to Model Y’s 9-speaker setup. The boot can hold up to 2539 litres of cargo, making it 381 litres bigger than Model Y’s.

The Model Y L is equipped with dual motors which enables AWD. It also accelerates faster from 0 to 100kmph, in 5 seconds against Model Y’s 5.6 seconds. On the range front, it sees a gain of 20km with a new WLTP range of 681km because of a slightly bigger battery at 88.2kWh compared to the Model Y Long Range’s 84.2kWh battery pack.

At the launch price of ₹62 lakh (ex-showroom), the Model Y L only commands a premium of ₹2 lakh over the regular Model Y which is priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). We feel that it offers a more valuable and cohesive package, stock-piled with features which people expect to have in the concerned segment.
