Has a range of 762km and produces 475bhp

Mercedes-Benz has taken one of its most important nameplates and made it electric. The all-new electric C-Class is not just a change in powertrains, but a full rework that blends the known C-Class traits with new-age technology. It borrows its underpinnings from the GLC and has a 94.5 kWh battery, allowing it to go 762kms in a single charge. An illuminated front grille, sportier styling and interior updates have given the C-Class a fresh new look. The current C-Class rivals cars like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. The electric version will go toe-to-toe with the BMW i4 and the BYD Seal.

All-new Mercedes-Benz C-class design and styling

The shape and silhouette of the C-Class is now more like a coupe. Up front, there’s an illuminated grille with over 1,000 lights. The LED headlamps and tail lamps get the star-motif pattern similar to what the current E-Class has. The subtle chrome detailing and the wheels add to the premium feel.

At the rear, the electric C-Class now has a more fastback-inspired look. The sloping roofline flows neatly, giving it a more dynamic stance. All of this contributes to a drag coefficient of just 0.22, as compared to a drag coefficient of 0.21 on the CLA electric.

All-new Mercedes-Benz C-class interior and Features

The highlight of the electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class’s cabin is the huge 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which integrates the driver display, central infotainment and the passenger screen into one continuous glass surface. It’s powered by a new operating system with AI integration, enabling more intuitive controls, personalised profiles and even conversational interactions via the virtual assistant.

Materials like nappa leather, open-pore wood trims and even a certified vegan interior are on offer. The ambient lighting is integrated into the cabin experience, extending across the dashboard, doors and even the panoramic roof, which can be specced with a ‘starry sky’ effect.

The seats are heated, ventilated and they also get multi-zone massage functions and even 4D audio integration. In terms of storage space, the C-Class has a traditional trunk as well as a frunk, extending your overall capacity.

All-new Mercedes-Benz C-class powertrain

The C-Class Electric houses a dual-motor setup producing 475bhp, paired with all-wheel drive and a unique 2-speed transmission on the rear axle.

It does 0–100kmph in under 4 seconds and with up to 762km (WLTP) of range and with an 800 volts architecture, a range of 352 kms ia added in just 10 minutes. There’s also smart energy management, high levels of regenerative braking, and features like rear-axle steering and air suspension.

All-new Mercedes-Benz C-class rivals

The petrol C-Class competes against the likes of the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series. Even though the price of the electric C-Class has not been revealed yet, we can assume that it will go up against the likes of the BMW i4, priced at ₹72.5 lakh and the BYD Seal, priced at ₹44 lakh.
