The Scrambler Icon and Icon Dark are powered by the same BS6 compliant 803cc, L-twin engine that puts out 72bhp at 8250rpm and 66.2Nm at 5750rpm. Both models continue to sport a tubular trellis frame while suspension duties on the Icons continue to be handled by 41mm Kayaba USDs upfront and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Dropping anchor is a radially mounted four-piston Brembo caliper mounted on a 330mm rotor upfront and a single-piston caliper mounted on a 245mm disc. In terms of electronics, they get a dual-channel Bosch cornering ABS system. The bikes tip scales at 189kg (wet weight). The only differentiating factor between the Scrambler Icon and Icon Dark are the blacked-out bits, the matte black colour scheme and the grey wheels. The Scrambler Icon also gets the Rosso Ducati (red) finish and at Rs 8.59 lakh (ex-showroom), it costs Rs 10,000 over the yellow Scrambler Icon.

The Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro gets a BS6 compliant 1079cc L-twin mill that is good for 84.4bhp at 7500rpm and 88Nm at 4750rpm. The bike uses a steel tubular trellis frame as well. On the 1100 Dark Pro, suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 45mm Marzocchi USD setup upfront and a preload and rebound adjustable monoshock at the rear. The bike gets two Brembo M4.32 radially mounted monobloc calipers mounted on 320mm discs and a single 245mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. Compared to the Icons, the 1100 Dark Pro gets a more advanced electronics package with ride-by-wire, cornering ABS, riding modes and traction control. Just like the Icon Dark, the Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro gets a matte black colour scheme.

Speaking about the launch of the three Scramblers, Bipul Chandra, MD, Ducati India, said, “The Scrambler range has always been a favorite amongst our customers and is the bestselling model range in India. It’s easy riding nature, oodles of character, and accessible everyday performance make it a great bike for both beginners, and enthusiasts. The Scrambler Icon and Icon Dark which are now BS6 compliant also gets a retuned suspension setup which makes it ideal for daily use. I am certain that new as well as seasoned riders will appreciate these changes. For the purists, we are also launching the Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro, which takes the elements that make the Scrambler range such a joy to ride, a notch above. The reinforced chassis, and the Dark Stealth paint job makes the 1100 Dark Pro as good to look at as it is to ride. We can't wait for people to try our first offerings for 2021 that are meant to be ridden hard, and ridden far!”

Bookings for the Ducati Scrambler Icon, Icon Dark and 1100 Scrambler Dark Pro are already open and the deliveries are expected to begin by January 28. Next up, according to Ducati’s plans is the Diavel and the new XDiavel and that should be followed by the V4 powered firecrackers.
