The Super Car Club Garage has become one of the most prominent automotive restoration and modification outfits in the country. Now, in a bid to expand its scope, the founder and chairman of SCCG, Gautam Singhania has launched his new venture, GS Design, which will offer customisation options for a luxurious transformation to your car. The initial offerings are an Innova Crysta and a Force Traveller, with more models in the pipeline. Singhania says the new venture has already received 20 orders, and the list is expected to grow. Here’s all you need to know about what could be the biggest challenger to DC Design yet.

The first model to be modified under the GS Design banner, the Innova Crysta has been completely reworked to become a lounge car for the rich and powerful. Gone are the seven seats, in whose place come two aircraft-style leather-clad sofas. These get completely powered recline and movement as well as an ottoman that makes them lie flat beds. The two sofas are separated from the driver by a partition, on which is a humongous 40-inch television screen for entertainment. However, this can be changed to anywhere between 32-inch to 55-inch. The GS Design Innova Crysta is priced at ₹45 lakh which includes the donor car, although if you provide the donor car beforehand the entire conversion can be done for ₹20 lakh. The conversion takes about 2 months.

GS Design Force Traveller

The Force Traveller is a more stylised and focused vehicle custom-made for a particular audience. With seven seats (three of which are powered with ottomans) and the same partition and television as the Innova, it offers much the same luxurious experience. However, there is also a chemical toilet, mini-pantry and the pièce de résistance, a platform which rises to the roof along with a public announcement system. Obviously, this car is aimed at the most discerning travelling politicians among us. The hydraulic lift raises the platform to allow politicians to address crowds from above. The Traveller conversion takes about 3 months and costs ₹85 lakh, which includes the cost of the donor car as well.

Gautam Singhania was clear about the growing potential of the Super Car Club Garage as well as GS Design in the future. The garage might expand, while GS Design projects will share space with restoration projects. According to Singhania, there are already plans to include more models in the future such as Vanity vans, Volvo buses, Kia Carnivals and other cars. With 235 employees and counting, the Garage is also expanding to boats and aviation customisation, as well as unique builds, such as a MIG 21 fighter jet restoration to display quality. Interesting days ahead then for one of the most unique automotive garages in the country!
