Drive through Sikkim in your own car with Cougar Motorsport

The Sikkim Chapter of Cougar Motorsports Himalayan Dash event takes place in May, letting you take your own luxury car

Cougar Motorsport is a pioneer in luxury self-driving experiences in India, and has now expanded its flagship ‘Himalayan Dash’ event with a drive through the state of Sikkim. The drive encourages luxury car owners to take their vehicles out of the city and into roads unknown, to get them to know their cars.

The first edition of the Sikkim chapter will take place from May 6 to 14, and drive across all four districts of the state. The route, starting from Siliguri in West Bengal and peaking at the Gurudongmar Lake ahead of Lachen at over 17,000 ft will take the drivers through landmarks such as Nathu La and Zuluk among others. The landscape will cover many historical monasteries as well as natural wonders. Attractions along the way include 17th century Buddhist Sanga Choling Monastery, Buddha Park, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang valley and Nathu La, among many other sights. The convoy will stop for rest at some of Sikkim’s best hotels and resorts, and even the erstwhile royal family’s former residences.

Cougar Motorsport is organising all aspects of the trip, which means participants do not have to worry about the planning or logistics. Cougar Motorsport’s Ashish Gupta will lead the convoy, being the first Land Rover Lead Instructor in India, as well as being responsible for organising the Rainforest challenge, one of the most difficult off-road competitions in the country.

The Sikkim chapter of the Himalayan Dash is a continuation of Cougar Motorsport’s previous drives in the Ladakh region, where owners of premium cars and SUVs are invited to enjoy an adventure, and even get a chance to network with like-minded people. The Sikkim chapter is taking place with the help of the Sikkim government and Sikkim Tourism. A maximum of 10 vehicles and 20 participants are slated to join the drive across Sikkim.
