Honda Cars India has launched an online portal for its prospective customers so that they can book their cars right from the comfort of their homes

Honda Cars India has launched its campaign Honda From Home, an initiative featuring an online digital platform that offers car-buying solutions for its prospective customers who want to purchase a Honda product. The website offers customers a look at various Honda cars and select their preferred dealership and proceed to book their own Honda car online. The platform is quite similar to what is being offered by other manufacturers in India, like Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes.

Rajesh Goel, Senior VP and director, sales and marketing, Honda Cars India, said, “At Honda, providing ‘Joy of Buying’ to our customers is at the core of our corporate philosophy. Our newly introduced ‘Honda from Home’ facility offers a simplified and secure booking experience for the ever-evolving digital consumer who makes his purchase decisions online. Customers can now conveniently book their Honda car from the comfort of their homes. This platform is part of Honda’s digitalisation efforts in the car retail experience that not only drives convenience but also efficiency.”

The platform has been designed to allow customers round-the-clock access so that they can book cars, select the dealership of their choice as well as also select the variants, fuel type , transmission and colour. After customers finalise on all these options they can proceed to the information and summary page and then on to the payment gateway to book their car online.

Once a booking confirmation ID has been generated it is sent to the customer via email or an SMS for reference and the selected dealer will get in touch with the customer. The dealer will ensure financing options and other formalities like registration all will be taken care off. Once all of this takes place the car will be delivered to the customers home directly.

As of now, Honda says the Amaze, Civic, CR-V are available in BS6 trim, but the dealers have already started accepting bookings for the new facelifted WR-V, the new BS6 Jazz and the all-new City, that was supposed to be launched this month but has been delayed due to the lockdown.

More and more manufacturers are taking advantage of the e-commerce model to help them grow their customer base and increase their sales. With social distancing becoming the norm, buying habits of people will change and it is likely that more people will use these online options.
