Honda Dio 125 launched in India at a price tag of Rs 83,400

The Honda Dio 125 is available in two trims – the Standard and the Smart

After teasing the arrival of a new two-wheeler for a few days, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has finally launched the Honda Dio in 125cc form with a price tag of Rs 83,400. The Honda Dio, available in two variants, attempts to fill the void left in the automaker's portfolio by the lack of sales of the 125cc Grazia brand.

Honda Dio 125 design

The Honda Dio 125 features a design that looks similar to the 110cc Honda Dio. It includes an apron-mounted headlight, front turn indicators, sharp body panels, a split-style pillion grabrail, and a dual outlet exhaust with a chrome cover. The design is further enhanced by fresh new graphics and logos. The Dio 125 offers a variety of colour options, including Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Night Star Black, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, and Sports Red.

Honda Dio 125 chassis

The Honda Dio 125 is equipped with telescopic front forks and a 3-step preload-adjustable single rear spring for the suspension system. The base variant features drum brakes at both ends, while the Smart variant benefits from a petal-type front disc brake. Both variants offer ample storage space with an 18-litre under-seat storage compartment and a front pocket for added convenience.

Honda Dio 125 engine

The Honda Dio 125 is equipped with a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine featuring eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have not yet disclosed specific power and torque figures for the Dio 125, while the existing 125cc engine on the Honda Grazia 125 and the Activa 125 generates a maximum power output of 8.14bhp and a peak torque of 10.3Nm. The 125cc engine adheres to OBD2 compliance and incorporates advancements such as a Honda ACG starter, improved tumble flow, reduced friction, enhanced combustion, and solenoid valves.

Honda Dio 125 features

The Honda Dio 125 comes with two variants namely, the Standard and the Smart. The Standard variant ships with features like a digital meter console, LED headlight, idling stop system, side-stand indicator with engine cut-off, integrated headlamp beam & passing switch, and a combined braking system. In addition to this, the Smart variant comes with additional features like H-Smart technology and packs features such as smart find, keyless start, and security functions.

The Standard variant of the Honda Dio 125 is priced at Rs 83,400, while the Smart variant carries a price tag of Rs 91,300. Both variants come with a special 10-year warranty package, which includes three years of standard warranty coverage and an optional extension of seven years.
