Hyundai Venue already past 33,000 bookings in one month!

Hyundai launched the Venue one month ago, on May 21. But even before the launch, the buzz was already on. And Hyundai left no stone unturned in showing off the numerous segment-first features, that too atop a cruise liner!

However, all these efforts have borne fruit, and how! Within a month, Hyundai has already attracted 33,000 bookings for the Venue, with 1,000 cars already delivered to customers across India, along with queries from a further two lakh potential customers.

So what all has it going for it?

With the Venue, Hyundai has debuted the indigenously-developed 1.0-litre Kappa engine, which makes an unheard-of 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. To put it into perspective, the Baleno RS, which also has a 1.0-litre turbocharged mill, makes a significantly less 100bhp. Additionally, Hyundai is also offering the Venue with a (also indigenously developed) seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Next, the car features a host of segment firsts such as wireless charging, an HD display screen and the piece de resistance, the ‘Hyundai Blue Link’ connectivity system. A Vodafone-Idea eSIM powers this in-built tamper-proof device, with a cloud-based voice recognition platform by Global AI, an artificial intelligence company, which can help do a lot, such as remotely lock/unlock the car, heat/cool it before you get in and connect to a 24X7 helpline in case of a breakdown.

Lastly, Hyundai is offering a three-year/unlimited km warranty, along with three years roadside assistance.

Variants and Prices

The Hyundai Venue is available with two petrol and one diesel engine. The prices for the 1.2 litre petrol, mated to a manual transmission, which makes 82bhp and 115Nm of torque (figures that put it on par with the Maruti Vitara Brezza) start at Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the 1.0-litre turbo starts at Rs 8.21 lakh (manual ‘box) and Rs 9.35 lakh (seven-speed DCT). Meanwhile, the 1.4-litre diesel (90bhp/220Nm, only available with a six-speed manual so far) is priced at Rs 7.75 lakh onwards.
