evo's contributing photographer Dominic Fraser spent his time during the current lockdown period to recreate some iconic rally since using an Audi Lego car
evo's contributing photographer Dominic Fraser has released some photographs recreating some iconic group B rally photos. His muse for this series is a Lego Audi Sport Quattro S1, the legendary Group B rally car. He has mocked up and recreated these iconic photographs with the help of some Lego bricks and figures. These photographs show how far you can push your creativity in spite of being locked up at home during this quarantine period.
The first thing that may come to your mind after seeing this set of photographs might be the 'Everything is awesome' song from the Lego movie, which really fits these photographs, after seeing the little Lego car being captured in action taking the crests and corners. Fraser also stresses he picked rally photographs to recreate in Lego format as those were iconic photographs and he wanted to pay homage to them.
Dominic improvised quite a bit, adding things he found around his house such as flour to recreate snow, and other kitchen ingredients used for mud and dust. Equipment-wise, he used all his camera gear lying around as he is also a seasoned photographer, so he had put them to good use instead of them gathering dust sitting on a shelf. These photographs and social media posts were also shared by the official WRC account and seem to have gone viral on the internet.
We look forward to seeing more creations from this talented photograph. You can check out his social media profile here.
