Kawasaki India gave us the shocker of the year in October by announcing the Japanese brand’s plan to bring their middleweight supersport, the MY20 Ninja ZX-6R to our shores. Though the company initiated the booking with an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh, the exact price was not revealed.

Now, Kawasaki India has revealed the introductory price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Japanese middle-weight supersport. The customers who pre-booked their Ninja can expect the deliveries from February 2019.

Briefing about the Nija ZX-6R, Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, managing director, India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd said, “We are happy to introduce Ninja ZX-6R, which has done remarkably well in WorldSSP racing competitions. It not only had good number of pole positions, but also won the championship twice in last four years. While the Ninja ZX-6R is performing well in various international racing competitions, we are sure our customers in India will enjoy riding this supersport bike. After pre-booking announcement, we have received overwhelming response with excellent number of bookings. We are confident and positive about the performance of our Ninja ZX-6R in the Indian market.”

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will be available in the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) edition only. The bike is powered by an inline-four 636cc engine and produces 127bhp with 70Nm. Featuring electronics like KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake system), KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) along with a quick-shifter and a shift and assist clutch, this motorcycle is the only full-blown middle-weight supersport offering in the country (Are you listening, Yamaha?) and we can’t wait to get our hands on this motorcycle.
