For the celebration of the 75th year anniversary of Vespa, a special edition of the scooter has been launched

Piaggio has launched the Vespa 75th edition scooter, celebrating 75 years since the first Vespa brand was launched in 1946. Vespa has been known for decades for the iconic designs that it brought to the scooter segment and has been coming up with updates on the same timeless design. The new limited edition scooter comes in two variants — 125cc and 150cc which are priced at Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. It will be available across India only in limited numbers.

Vespa has always been identified as a classy scooter, with a sleek metal body, and vibrant colours to choose from. The new scooter gets the same chassis as the ongoing series with visual additions that make it stand out as a special edition. It gets a monocoque full steel body, a glossy metallic yellow paint scheme with the number 75 graphics displayed on the side panels, it also gets the 75th logo on the glove box. In addition to the body graphics, the scooter gets special seats made of Nobuk leather feel in dark smoke grey colour. Similar to the VXL, the Vespa 75th gets high lumen LED headlights with centre integrated DRLs. The special edition also features a bag as an accessory, again in Nobuk leather feel which can be mounted on the rear chrome shack above the taillights.

The Vespa 75th wheels are machined alloys in dust grey colour, the accessories also include a clear front windshield visor along with a special kit from Vespa that includes collectable postcards, vintage Vespa signs and more that talks about the history of Vespa as a brand and its journey through the years.

Sudhanshu Agrawal, Business head – 2W, Piaggio India said, “Vespa is not just a vehicle but an icon of lifestyle that has gained the global stature and transcended trends into various times. Celebrating its 75 glorious years with a creatively designed Vespa 75 edition represents the most exciting journey into history while looking at the future of mobility through its values, the Vespa 75th will offer Vespa fans an opportunity to symbolize the values of Freedom and originality.”

Similar to the outgoing standard models of Vespa, the 75th comes with two engine options: a 125 and a 150cc BSVI powertrain. The standard models produce 9.7bhp and 9.6Nm of torque (125cc), and 10.3bhp and 10.6Nm of torque (150cc).

Just like the standard model, the Vespa 75th gets an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) on the 150cc variant whereas the 125cc variant gets a Combined Braking System (CBS).

The 75th edition Vespa is available for booking at Rs 5000 across India and in limited numbers. The pricing of the special edition scooter is approximately 13000 more than the standard variant Vespa VXL that has the same specifications.
