Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol bookings open

Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1.25 lakh units of the S-Cross since it was first launched in India

Nexa has commenced bookings for the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol today. With diesel powertrains discontinued by Maruti Suzuki, the S-Cross will now be powered by the 1.5-litre BS6 K-series petrol engine, supplemented by the brand’s Smart Hybrid technology.

It’s the same unit that does duty in the Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, XL6 and the Ertiga. The engine develops 103.2bhp and 138Nm of torque and is known to be one of the most refined and fuel-efficient powertrains in its class. The S-Cross will most likely get two transmission options – 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. That said, the S-Cross will also be equipped with the updated version of Maruti Suzuki’s Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system.

Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “S-Cross enjoys a special place in the NEXA portfolio as its flagship product and has been appreciated by over 1.25 lakh customers for its premium interiors, stylish and masculine design. We are delighted to announce the commencement of bookings for the S-Cross Petrol. With our relentless innovations, we are optimistic that the S-Cross Petrol will be yet another testament for our customer’s confidence and trust.”

The BS4 complaint S-Cross diesel started at a price tag of Rs 8.8 lakh, ex-showroom before it was discontinued. You can expect the upcoming BS6 petrol variant to be priced in a similar ballpark.
